ESD TRAINING PROGRAM "INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND EUROPEAN INTEGRSTION" has been running since 1995. In 2005 ESD launched a scholarship program in co-operation with Estonian and Finnish ministries of foreign affairs and the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA). The idea was to apply the already existing and well funtioning training program to young diplomats and civil servants in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Thus the study group became international and English was made as langugae of instruction. In 2011 the scope of countries was extended to include applicants from all Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. In 2013 applicants from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Egypt were accepted. All in all more than 200 scholarship students have successfully graduated and benefitted from the program. ESD scholarship graduates have continued careers in state institutions, private and non-governmental sector as well as in academic field.
