Strengthening Ukraine’s European Way: ESD Continues Capacity-Building Project

//

The Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) in cooperation with The Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) is continuing its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s European integration through the project “UKRAINA EUROOPA TEE: Ukraina EL-integratsiooni võimekuse ja Diplomaatilise Akadeemia tugevdamine” (“Ukraine’s European Way: Strengthening Ukraine’s EU Integration Capacity and the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine”).

The primary aim of this project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, as well as the diplomats and civil servants directly driving Ukraine’s EU integration processes.

By transferring Estonia’s practical EU accession experience, policy expertise, and technical know-how, the project directly supports Ukraine’s institutional readiness for full European Union membership.

The project features tailored training series and interactive lectures led by distinguished practitioners, former ambassadors, and domain specialists, including:

Gert Antsu – Former Ambassador and senior expert in European integration and policy.

Taavi Toom – Experienced diplomat specializing in EU affairs and bilateral diplomacy.

Michael Roberts – Former UK Ambassador, diplomat, and senior expert in international relations.

In addition, leading specialists in security and defence contribute to the curriculum, equipping Ukrainian officials with specific knowledge in order to help navigate issues on both, complex EU integration mechanisms and today’s multifaceted geopolitical challenges.
