6.-10. juuninin 2016 viibis Eestis kümekond diplomaati Kesk-Aasia riikidest, kellega EDK on aktiivselt suhteid arendanud: Afganistan, Kasahstan, Tadžikistan ja Kõrgõztan. Tegemist oli Eesti arengukoostöö vahendistest rahastatud multilateraalse koolitus- ja õppereisiga, mille käigus kohtusid Kesk-Aasia ametnikud Eesti kolleegidega Välisministeeriumist, sõlmisid kontakte Riigikantseleis, Riigikogus ja külastasid teisi riigiasutusi. Reisi eesmärk oli tõsta osalejate teadmisi Eesti kohta, tutvustada meie reformikogemust ning Balti-ja Põhjamaade regiooni laiemalt. Õppereis hõlmas muu hulgas visiiti Soome Välisministeeriumisse ja Soome rahvusvahelisse kriisiohjeorganisatsiooni Crisis Management Initiative.

Kõnealune õppevisiit on osa laiemast projektist, mille raames viib EDK läbi 4 multilateraalset koolitust Kesk-Aasia, Põhja-Aafrika ja  Lähis-Ida diplomaatidele. Järgmine õppereis Põhja-Aasia ja Lähis-Ida riikide diplompaatidele toimub 17.-21. oktoobril.

Projekti rahastab Välisministeerium Eesti arengukoostöö vahendistest.
