On December 4-10,2017 ESD hosted a delegation of 12 Georgian Diplomats for a one-week training. Training consisted of thematic discussions with Estonian experts, visits to state institutions and practical training sessions by former diplomats. Study visit concluded with a meeting Georgian Ambassador to Estonia.
From December 4th to 8th, 2017, the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) is organising a training titled “International Relations, Cooperation and E-Governance’ to the students of the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The training is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia from the Estonian Development Cooperation fund.
On November 20th, 2017, within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and Estonian School of Diplomacy “Support to the Diplomatic Training Centre of the Georgian MFA, 2016-2017“, the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia started a seminar on “Aggressive State Behaviour and International Law”, conducted by Rene Vark, Associate Professor of International Law, School of Law, University of Tartu.
On November 16th, 2017, within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and the Estonian School of Diplomacy “Support to the Diplomatic Training Centre of the Georgian MFA, 2016-2017“, the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre hosted a seminar “ICT and Diplomacy”. The Seminar was conducted by Marina Kaljurand, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Ambassador, Cyber Security Expert. The seminar was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
On November 17th, 2017, the Estonian School of Diplomacy in partnership with the Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a one-day seminar entitled “Georgia's Path towards the European Union: Next Steps after the Eastern Partnership Summit”.
The French Ambassador to Estonia, Mrs Claudia Delmas-Scherer received, on November 2nd, 2017, at the French Embassy’s Residence in Tallinn, the diploma students of the 2017-2018 class of the Estonian School of Diplomacy, accompanied by ESD’s director Mr Ekke Nõmm.

On October 19, 2017 the 6th Inter-Institutional Steering Group (IISG) Meeting of the Anna Lindh Foundation took place in Tallinn at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
The Estonian School of Diplomacy, in cooperation with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosts this week a five-day study visit for seven diplomats from countries from the Arab and Southern Mediterranean regions (Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco). The study visit runs from 9th to 13th of October 2017.
Yesterday morning, October 8th, 2017, Estonian historian, Dr Vahur Made, deputy director of the Estonian School of Diplomacy, passed away after long and serious illness. Dr Made’s funeral service will take place on October 13th, 2017 at 11AM at the Pärnamäe cemetery.

The five-day study visit and training provided by the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) offers a delegation of diplomats from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with knowledge and skills on foreign and security policy, foreign service development and IT-related experience in Estonia. The study visit runs from September 25th until September 29th, 2017. The project is financed by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the framework of the Development Cooperation Programme.
On September 18th, 2017, the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) commenced its academic year 2017/18 in Tallinn for its postgraduate diploma programme. Twenty-five students are enrolled this year. Nine Estonians and sixteen international students coming from fourteen countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean (Algeria, Egypt, Cameron, Rwanda, Uganda, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, China, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.)
From September 4th to September 8th,2017, the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD) hosted an 18-member delegation of diplomats from Ukraine for a study visit that focused on issues of soft power diplomacy and hybrid warfare. The delegation had the pleasure of meeting their peers from the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as officials from various governmental institutions, including the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the Government Office of Estonia. The delegation also met with a group of researchers from the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) and the Estonian Centre of Eastern Partnership (ECEAP).
On May 26 the study group of 2016/2017 graduated from the postgraduate diploma program „International Relations and European Integration“ of the Estonian School of Diplomacy.
In the academic year 2017/2018 Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD), in co-operation with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offers full scholarships for young diplomats and civil servants to participate in the Postgraduate Diploma program International Relations and European Integration taking place at the Estonian School of Diplomacy in Tallinn, from September 2017 until May 2018.

On 6-10 June 2016 ESD hosted 10 diplomats from the Central Asia: Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan. The four countries have been in the focus of ESD since 2014.
In cooperation with the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Latvian Embassy in Tallinn the students of ESD participated in a study visit to Riga on 8-9 April 2015.

The nature of Alliance has changed from a military organisation to a community of democratic states.
The current Ebola virus outbrak has so far demanded over 8000 recorded deaths and posed considerable threat to spread outside Africa. Although the latest news say the spreading of the virus has stopped it is by no means the end of the problem. ESD, in cooperation with Norwegian Embassy and the European Commission's Representation in Tallinn organized an open lecture entitled "The Ebola Outbreak in West Africa: Causes and Consequences" on Jan 29 at the EU House.
In cooperation between the Estonian School of Diplomacy and the Anna Lindh Foundation an Arab journalist Ms. Sophie Chamas from Lebanon visited Tallinn, Estonia on April 14-18, 2014. Ms chamas visited Tallinn in support of ALF and accompanied the group of Afghan diplomats on their two week study visit at ESD. During her visit Ms Chamas had an opportunity to learn about Estonia and its foreign policy, also about cooperation between Estonia and Afghanistan. During her stay Ms Chamas visited Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also Estonian Parliament. Ms Chamas also conducted several interviews, one with the Estonian minister of Foregn Affairs, Mr. Urmas Paet.
On April 22, 2014 the study group of 2013/2014 at ESD had the honor to meet British Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Chris Holtby. Ambassador Holtby gave a comprehensive presentation on British Foreign Policy, his embassy`s work in Estonia and about Estonian-British close multidimensional cooperation. Students also had an opportunity for Q&A session.
On April 3, 2014 ESD 2013/2014 study group had an opportunity to meet Mrs Guna Šnore from NATO HQ who gave an overview about NATO`s current issues in the light of upcoming Wales Summit. Also the questions related to Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey were dicussed.

07.03.2014 Official opening ceremony in Tbilisi of the EU-funded project “Capacity building in International Relations in Georgia” On 7 March 2014, the official launch of the EU-funded project “Capacity building in International Relations, Georgia” took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, in Tbilisi.
In cooperation with Estonian School of Diplomacy, French Embassy and European Commission Representation in Estonia a roundtable „Europe and the Sub-Saharan Africa: a Discussion on Politics and Security“ took place on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11.00 – 13.00, at the Representation of the European Commission, located at Rävala puiestee 4 in Tallinn.

On December 12, 2013 students of ESD participated in the debate day with ambassadors and experts „VILNIUS SUMMIT IMPACT ON EASTERN PARTNERSHIP AND CHALLENGES FOR ESTONIA“ at Tallinn University (Narva mnt 25). The purpose of the debate held in Tallinn University was to analyse the outcomes of the Vilnius Summit and to analyze possible scenarios for developments of business environments of Estonia and the Eastern Partnership countries.

During the official visit to Estonia, Mrs Maia Panjikidze, the new Georgian minister of foreign affairs made a visit to ESD on 30 Jan 2013 to learn about the long-lasting cooperation and activities of ESD and its Georgian partners.
A group of 28 new students began their studies at ESD in the academic year 2013/2014. The program is called "International Relations and European Integration", duration of studies Sep 2013 - May 2014. The composition of the international study group includes young diplomats, civil cervants, people from civil and private sector who take close interest in international relations, European integration and diplomacy.
On 6 September 2013 the Estonian School of Diplomacy in cooperation with the European Commission Representation to Estonia hosted a meeting with high representatives from Republic of Korea. The roundtable focused on Estonian transition experiences.
Georgian Ambassador to Estonia Mr Ruslan Abashidze visited ESD on 8 March 2013. The discussion focused on Georgian integration to NATO and EU. Mr Ambassador pointed out Georgian foreign policy interests will not be harmed despite the power changes in Georgian administration.
On 28 January the study group of ESD visited the European Commission Representation in Tallinn. At the beginning of the event the Head of Mission Mr Rumm, welcomed the participants and introduced the main areas of the representation's daily work. Subsequently, the Information Adviser Mr Erkki Bahovski, started his presentation on historical perspective of the European citizenship, structured overview on evolution of the EU and its form and role in modern times. Special attention was paid on year 2013 marking the Year of European Citizens dedicated to their right.
Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Zohrab Mnatsakanian, made a visti to ESD on 24 Jan 2013. He was accompanyed by Armenian ambassador to Lithuania Mr Ara Aivazian. In addition to ESD and ECEAP, Mr Ivar Tallo from the e-Governance Academy participated in the meeting. ESD Armenian students also attended the event.
